Lauren Dunn is a licensed and board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist, and co-founder of AKARA Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine. Her practice centers on the systems that quietly run everything else: the nervous system, hormones, sleep, and digestion. Patients come to her for stress and burnout, hormonal imbalance, insomnia, and digestive patterns that have not responded to symptom-by-symptom care.
Lauren's second specialty is holistic aesthetics. She leads AKARA's cosmetic acupuncture and lymphatic gua sha facial programs, treating skin as what it is: an organ that reflects the health of the whole system. Her facial work always considers the internal picture, which is why her aesthetic patients so often report sleeping better too.
Her advanced training includes a sports medicine apprenticeship in the Whitfield Reaves tradition, grounding her needle work in orthopedic precision even within an internal medicine practice.
