Dr. Yen Man is a licensed and board-certified acupuncturist and herbalist, and co-founder of AKARA Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine. She holds both a Doctorate and a Master's in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine from AIMC Berkeley, graduating summa cum laude, along with a diploma in naturopathic medicine from the UK, and holds credentials in both California and the United Kingdom.
Her clinical focus is orthopedic and sports medicine acupuncture: pain, injury, recovery, and performance. Her advanced training includes orthopedic and sports medicine work with Dr. Jenny Nieters, team acupuncturist for the San Francisco 49ers, and those professional-sport techniques, motor point needling, electroacupuncture, and cupping, are the working core of her treatment room.
Beyond the orthopedic work, Yen leads AKARA's herbal medicine and SkinPen® microneedling programs, and treats digestive conditions and hormonal balance with the same pattern-based rigor. Her naturopathic pharmacology background makes her especially careful about combining herbal formulas with conventional medications.
